I'll be clearing the objectives around the 19th of November. The carriers and all aircraft on the deck will be cleared as well on the 20th for an event. So be sure to try the mission objectives beforehand.

The mission objectives we had planned to use are up now. (About three hours late because I fell asleep in the middle of it. ^^; ) Feel free to find the first on the table in penzance, and follow each as you obtain them. The mission will lead you t...

That is indeed an interesting project, Lady Ember. Also we could add this to an sky watch system during special times (wars or skypirates' assaults) that would track who is flying over Caledon territory. Dan "1984" Gervasi.

I guess it depends of the days. I recently acquired an old Gotha from the Quonset Hut and was able to fly from RCAFB to Lovelace Liberty and back without any problem. And we are on a Saturday, so go figure.

Flapter with TCS: First Impressions
As some of you may recall, I'm usually wandering around Caledon with a funny little flying machine called a Flapter, designed by Ms. Ilsa Munro. It looks a bit like a bug, as hovering and floating ability, and is very practical to mingle around in small rivers or torrents. It is also an excellent flyer, although a bit slower than most RCAF planes. It is however much faster than battle bugs.

Although I was an hour late for the dogfight yesterday, I did practice in Extropia and (thanks to the RCAF members who practiced with me!) and here are my impressions about the Flapter. Ilsa Munro was kind enough to customize it and enabled TCS on it.

The good:
- it has an excellent stability in flight, which allows some easy lock-in on targets.
- it's a very effective against battlebugs.
- more surprizingly, its flight behaviour allows an interesting ability to attack on sea/ground targets. I engaged with some kind of a flying ironclad in Extropia. I shot it down and I was able to do that both in the air and on the surface with even greater ease. Also, its ability to float and surf on the sea, let alone hover around its preys does matter a lot.

In short, it definitely makes a compelling choice for recon, and sea patrol/attack.

The bad:
- it's slower than any Thadovian Prowler/Mawler out there, let alone any jets or any WW2-like machine. So it can be an easy prey.
- TCS may need a bit of more work on this machine, but it's okay for the moment. Flaps animation has to be disabled (thanks Ilsa for the tip).

Your comments are welcome!

Hello Dan. I like the Seaplane patrol idea. Excellent!

Profile Information

About Me:
My name is Dan Gervasi and I am a recent Caldeon Citizen. As I love flying in SL I thought I could perhaps contribute to my new country, Caledon, by joining the RCAF.
I Love Flying Because:
Ah... perhaps because I always wanted to be a pilot in RL but could not...

Anyone want to form a recon/maritime patrol squad?

If so, I'd be interested. My flying machine seems to be made for that, can hover, take off and land on see and streams. Feel free to ping me.

Dan.
